Nicole High-Steskal is moving to the Donau-Uni Krems

On 1 October 2019 Nicole High-Steskal begins her new appointment in the Department for Image Sciences at the Danube-University Krems. We are grateful to her for the very good and positive collaboration with the ÖAI team and wish her every success in her new position!

In addition to her translation functions, Nicole High-Steskal made significant contributions to the possibilities for applying digital technologies, in the framework of the Research Group »Digging Digital«. Amongst her projects include a digital bibliography with focus on Ephesos (up until ca. 1975), as well as a digital Ephesos library for internal use. Together with Propylaeum, the professional information service for ancient studies operated by the UB Heidelberg and the BSB Munich, all of the volumes of ÖJh up until 1924 have been digitalised, and additional literature will follow. In addition, all records from the Open Research Data Project »Wares, Types and Fabrics. A Contribution from Upper Egypt to the LCP« (incl. lists with terminologies from the field of ceramics) have been published as open access. Furthermore, the publicly accessible Archaeology Vocabulary, developed during her translation activities for various archaeological institutions, is of interest.
