The second AI Summer School of the OeAW took place from 13 to 17 September 2021. The aim is to provide employees of all OeAW institutes with the necessary knowledge to be able to assess the benefits of artificial intelligence and machine learning for their own research work. The Summer School serves in particular to train young researchers from all fields and is thus primarily aimed at PhD students and young postdocs. From the OeAI, the colleagues Micheline Welte, Karl Burkardt and Moises Hernandez Cordero took part.
This year's 5-day event focused on the various aspects of Deep Learning, differentiable programming and interpretable machine learning, which were taught to the participants in a balanced mix of lectures and practical exercises with a special focus on practical applications.
