In January 2016 the Gerda Henkel Foundation created its own project for the digital publication of projects financed by the foundation. The Kibyratis-project is the pilot project for this initiative.

Since January 2016, the Kibyratis project, with the support of the Gerda Henkel Foundation in Düsseldorf, has been working on publishing all the results and research data obtained from the field research conducted in the Kabalis/Kibyratis between 2008 and 2014 under the direction of Thomas Corsten and Oliver Hülden online in parallel to printed publications. For this purpose, an operational project of the Gerda Henkel Foundation was launched, for which the Kibyratis project serves as a pilot. The architecture of the online platform was developed together with the company PLEX GmbH from Berlin.

Since 12.11.2021, the first volume in the »Einzelstudien des Kibyratis-Projekts« series has been available in the »EDIT. Digitale Publikation Gerda Henkel Stiftung« series (DOI: 10.23778/GHS.EDIT.2021.1). It deals with Bubon, which was founded in Hellenistic times and belonged to the tetrapolis of Kibyra. Between 2004 and 2006, Bubon was already the focus of epigraphic and archaeological research under the direction of Christina Kokkinia (Institute of Historical Research/National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens). Now a new evaluation of the settlement history and development can be presented, adapted to the current state of research, which for the first time also includes the analysis of a ceramic spectrum from the Archaic period to Late Antiquity. In addition to the evaluative texts, the volume consists of a catalogue of findings and a ceramics catalogue with numerous photos, drawings and plans and makes full use of the possibilities of internal links.
