Biographical sketch

Study of Ancient History and Antiquity Studies as well as Classical Archaeology at the University of Vienna. 1988–1989 Postgraduate Study at University College London with Prof. J. Nicholas Coldstream. 1995 Promotion at the University of Vienna. 2018 Habilitation at the Technical University Darmstadt. From 1989–1994 and 2001–2007, scientific employee at the Mycenaean Commission of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. 1997 colleague at the Olympia excavations carried out by the DAI. 1998–2000 APART-Stipend of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. 2007–2013 Academic councillor in the Department of Classical Archaeology of the Institute for Archaeological Sciences at the University of Freiburg. 2013-2019 director of the research group Mycenaean Aegean at the OREA Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Since 2019 director of the Athens Branch of the Austrian Institute of Archaeology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
