Educational Background

Since 2017: PI of the MIDAS atomic force microscope on-board the comet orbiter Rosetta.

2014 – 2018: Ph.D. in physics, University of Graz and Space Research Institute: ‘Scientific data analysis for the MIDAS atomic force microscope on board Rosetta’.  Supervisor: Univ.-Doz. N. Kömle, co-examiner: Prof. J. Blum.

2011 – 2013: M.Sc. in physics, Technical University of Munich, thesis: ‘Low-level radioactivity techniques for the neutrino-oscillation experiment Double Chooz’, supervisor: Prof. L. Oberauer

2008 – 2011: B.Sc. in physics, Technical University of Munich, thesis: ‘Influence of fast afterpulses on the detection efficiency of proton decay in LENA’, supervisor: Prof. L. Oberauer

Research Interests

My main research area is the analysis of cometary dust, in particular with respect to the morphology at the micro- to nanometre scale. My results contribute to the understanding of comets and dust growth in the early Solar System. As Co-Investigator of the MIDAS instrument on board Rosetta I also have experience in atomic force microscopy and spaceborne data acquisition.
