Education & Experience

Titus Udrea studied political science at the universities of Vienna, Maastricht and Cluj-Napoca. He obtained a PhD in political science from the University of Vienna in 2017. The doctoral thesis analyzed the emergence of new civil society networks and expertise forms, influencing the EU’s participatory governance system. The thesis was also part of the postgraduate program “The Politics of Representation” with the Institute for Advanced Studies, Vienna, where he was a pre-doc researcher from October 2013-September 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Titus Udrea was a university assistant at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Vienna, where his research and teaching focused on European integration, (Central and Eastern) European regional dynamics and governance processes as well as policy expertise.

Since July 2018 he is a project researcher for the CoMoPA project at the ITA. The project investigates how computational models and simulations are used in advisory contexts in various policy areas. The project strives to open the ‘black box’ of modelling in policy advice and to provide empirical insights into computer modelling and simulations as epistemic and political instruments and practices.
