In 2008, ITA pursued a short investigation into recent developments in areas highlighted earlier in a study of 2000. Objective of the study was to discuss relevant issues for actors in consumer protection, policy and scientific discourse on privacy and to identify areas with a need for action.
Additionally relevant developments in the technical, political and economical domain were described, which could not be discussed in the older study. Besides new challenges we pointed out positive trends and innovative measures to enhance privacy.
Aim of the study was to give an overview on the actual situation and recent trends in privacy in order to raise awareness for new protective and supporting measures.
