Precautionary expertise for GM crops

This project analysed how current European practices with regard to GM crops and their food uses – regulatory measures, expert judgements and stakeholder roles – compare with different accounts of the precautionary principle.

Using the analytical results, the project arrived at suggestions as to how EU guidelines and expert bodies could be made more appropriate, so that precautionary expertise is better able to address the policy problems facing the EU.
