Miriam Haselbacher studied International Development at the University of Vienna and is currently part of the research group Urban Transformations at the Institute of Urban and Regional Research, where she works on the projects “YouBeOn” and “D.Rad - DeRadicalisation in Europe and Beyond: Detect, Resolve, Reintegrate”. Between 2015 and 2020, she was working at the department of Political Science (University of Vienna) and a member of the research group INEX – The Politics of Inclusion and Exclusion. In 2018, she was a visiting scholar at the Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare in Malmö/ Sweden. In her dissertation “Negotiating Belonging: The Accommodation of Refugees in Peripheral Areas” she focuses on the local dimension of asylum and integration policies.
