Born 1989 in Upper Austria, Petra Köck studied Cultural and Social Anthropology (BA) and Spatial Research and Spatial Planning (MA) at the University of Vienna.
During her studies she worked as study assistant for the working group Applied Geography, Spatial Research and Planning at the Institute of Geography and Regional Research at the University of Vienna. She complemented her theoretical knowledge with practical work in the fields of urban development (Berlin, Germany) and regional development (Innsbruck, Austria).
After completing her studies she first worked as a research assistant in the field of youth migration at the Institute of Geography and Regional Research at the University of Vienna. In 2019 she started working at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in 2019 focusing mainly on the developments concerning the Viennese housing market.
