
Short Biography
Alexander Barnsteiner completed his BA in cultural and social anthropology at the University of Vienna and wrote his master’s thesis on degrowth and city planning in Vienna at the faculty of geography and regional research. He is interested in the research of socially just and ecologically sustainable city models, urban development and urban geography. Currently he’s employed in two projects. The first one being the research project FWF CURB as an research assistant in which he’s currently conducting a qualitative media analysis on newspaper articles about the covid-19 pandemic and its influence on the real estate market. The second one is funded by the cultural department of the city of Vienna (MA 7) and builds upon the knowledge generated in his master’s thesis.
