Paul Kolling talks to curator Maria-Katharina Lang about his artwork Break of Gauge in the exhibition Dust & Silk, the artistic research behind the work and the related journey in China.

Paul Kolling (born 1993) deals with infrastructural and economic processes and their geopolitical, ecological, and social implications. A collaborative research project with artist and filmmaker Jack Wolf provided the impetus for his latest project Break of Gauge (2019/20), which is dedicated to the complexity of the Eurasian freight networks between Zhengzhou and Hamburg.
