Biography
Christine Nölle-Karimi completed her PhD in Near Eastern Studies at U.C. Berkeley in 1995. Between 1997 and 2008 she worked as an instructor and scientist at the Department of Iranian Studies at the Otto-Friedrich-University in Bamberg and at the Institute for the Near and Middle East at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. She obtained the venialegendi in Iranian Studies in 2009 and an extraordinary professorship at Bamberg University in 2017. Since October 2009 she has been working as a senior scientist at the Institute of Iranian Studies of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
