This article examines the spatial, symbolic (religious-philosophical), and magical realist ambi-valences in Hannelore Valencak’s largely overlooked post-apocalyptic novel ›Die Höhlen Noahs‹ (1961). The focus of the analysis lies in the novel’s diverse interpretative possibilities regarding landscape representation, plot structure, and narrative style. The aim is to open up new perspec-tives for its literary re-evaluation. 

Der Beitrag untersucht die räumlichen, symbolischen (religiös-philosophischen) und magisch-realistischen Ambivalenzen in Hannelore Valencaks weitgehend in Vergessenheit geratenem postapokalyptischem Roman ›Die Höhlen Noahs‹ (1961). Im Fokus stehen die vielfältigen Inter-pretationsmöglichkeiten in Bezug auf Landschaftsdarstellung, Handlungsstruktur und Erzählstil. Ziel ist es, neue Perspektiven für die literaturwissenschaftliche Neubewertung des Romans zu eröffnen.
