JÖRG PETERSEN (Hamburg): Zu Thomas Harlans ›Heldenfriedhof‹ – Negative Narratologie und Perturbation des Leseakts: Strategien der literarischen Weitergabe des Holocaust.
doi:10.1553/spk44_2s97
The article employs a close reading of the novel ›Heldenfriefhof‹ to show the literary-narratological means through which the reader's expectation of a coherent, successive linear text is perturbed. Radical decoherence of the spacetime continuum, metaleptic shifts of reality, transmedial delimitations, upset narrative sequences reproduce the force of the holocaust by converting it into a narrative process which deprives the act of reading of any orientation. This permanent perturbation can be comprehended as a negative narratology; which explains the singular position of the novel within the literature of the holocaust.
