Barbara Neymeyr (Freiburg/Br.): Experimente im „Ideenlaboratorium“. Musils avantgardistische Literaturtheorie.

Der Aufsatz untersucht die Bedeutung von Musils ästhetischen Konzepten für die Entfaltung innovativer Erzählstrategien. Erstmals wird gezeigt, inwiefern Musil sogar aktuelle kulturanthropologisch fundierte Literaturtheorien vorwegnimmt und sich auch in seiner Auseinandersetzung mit Haupttendenzen der zeitgenössischen Literatur als Avantgardist erweist. Reflektiert werden seine Urteile über Heimatkunst und Décadence-Literatur sowie über den Naturalismus, Impressionismus, Expressionismus und Futurismus.
The article analyses the significance of Musil's aesthetic concepts for the development of innovative narrative strategies. It can be pointed out to what extent Musil even comes to anticipate topical literary theories based on cultural anthropology; in coming to terms with the main tendencies of contemporary literature he embraces avant-gardist attitudes, which are equally reflected in his opinions on rural and décadence writing as well as on naturalism, impressionism, expressionism and futurism.
