Biography

Born in Bad Karlshafen (Hessen/ Germany).
MA level studies in Commercial Science and PhD in Economic and Social History at Vienna University of Economics and Business. MA level studies in German Studies, Political Science, History and Philosophy at the University of Vienna, 2011 PhD in German Studies. Since 2000 scientific collaborator in third-party funded cultural science research projects. 1999-2005 member of the research network „Emergence of Modernity“/ BTWH (Berkely/ Tübingen/ Wien/ Harvard), 2002/03 Junior Fellow at the International Research Center for Cultural Studies (IFK) Vienna, 2003/04 Research Fellowship IFK Abroad at the University of Tübingen, Research Fellowships of the City of Vienna in 2010 and 2012. 2006 until 2013 researcher at the Institute of Culture Studies (IC/ ÖAW), Austrian Academy of Sciences. 2013 until 2017 holder of the Hertha Firnberg grant (funded by the Austrian Science Fund/ FWF) at the Department of German Studies at the University of Vienna with the habilitation project "Cultivating Latency. The other modernism in Austrian literature 1930–1960“. Since 2014 lecturer at the University of Vienna. July 2017 return to the IKT (ÖAW).

Areas of Specialization

Austrian literary and cultural history of the 19th and 20th century, literary and cultural theory (politics & aesthetics/ representation, voice/ vote, laughter, latency/ depth), historiographical theory in cultural sciences.
