Who is parasitizing on whom? On the recoding of a central anti-Semitic stereotype in the fictional work of the Slovak writer František Švantner.

The article deals with the peculiarities of literary anti-Semitism in the context of Slovak lit-erature. Taking into account more recent approaches that emphasize the impermanence and changeability of central anti-Semitic stereotypes, the transformation and philo-Semitic recod-ing of the stereotype of the ‘Jewish usurer’ in the work of the Slovak writer František Švantner are worked out.

Der Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit den Besonderheiten des literarischen Antisemitismus im Kontext der slowakischen Literatur. Unter Berücksichtigung neuerer Ansätze, die die Un-beständigkeit und Wandelbarkeit zentraler antisemitischer Stereotype betonen, werden die Transformation und philosemitische Umcodierung des Stereotyps des ‚jüdischen Wucherers‘ im Werk des slowakischen Schriftstellers František Švantner herausgearbeitet.
