Discourses of Economy in contemporary German Literature
'New Capitalism' is characterised by intense transformation taking place in the economy and society: deregulation, privatisation and entrepreneurial spirit have become components of an economic 'normality dispositive' (J. Link) which critics perceive as increasingly denormalising (formation of a financially weak 'precariat', economisation, governmentality). Current literature, identified as a preferred means of subjectivised denormalisation, is studied with particular regard to its interdiscoursive function in the specific meanings attributed to the economy.
