Short bio

Horst Lasic studied Tibetan and Buddhist Studies as well as Indology at the University of Vienna, where he received his PhD in Tibetan and Buddhist Studies in 1999. He has been a research fellow at the Institute since 1995.


His research focuses on the philosophy of Buddhism in India and Tibet.  He is particularly interested in the logico-epistemological tradition. His research is mainly based on original texts which have been handed down in written form.
