Prof. Kano will introduce the background history of the Sanskrit manuscript materials. This will be followed by a joint reading of Sajjana's Mahāyānottaratantraśāstropadeśa and Mahāyānottaratantraparicaya by his anonymous disciple.

Lecturer


Prof. Kazuo Kano is the current Numata Visiting Professor at the ISTB Department of the University of Vienna for the summer semester 2015. He is an associate professor at Koyasan University in Japan and a specialist of Sanskrit and Tibetan tathāgatagarbha literature. His particular research interests focus on philosophical interpretations of the Ratnagotravibhāga.
