Lena Oetzel is a research associate in the research unit History of the Habsburg Monarchy and Elise-Richter-Fellow.

Brief Biography


Studied Medieval and Modern History, Political Science and Philosophy at Bonn and St. Andrews. Received doctorate from the University of Salzburg in 2012 with a thesis on ‘Conversations’ about Rule. Critique of Rulers by Elisabeth I of England (1558–1603). Post-doctoral fellow at the Department of History, University of Salzburg, since 2012. FWF Erwin Schrödinger Fellow at the Centre for Historical Peace Studies, University of Bonn, 2014–2016. Elise Richter Fellow at the Institute of Habsburg and Balkan Studies of the OeAW since March 2020.
