All OeAW buildings to close temporarily

Due to the preventive measures taken by the Austrian Government to contain the coronavirus, the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) will be temporarily closed from March 17, 2020. This precaution applies to all locations of the Academy in Austria until further notice.

In view of the rapidly increasing number of infections with the coronavirus and the measures taken by the Austrian Government, the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) is expanding precautions to protect its employees: on March 17, 2020, all OeAW buildings in Austria will be closed until further notice. We ask for your understanding and will inform you as soon as normal operation can be resumed.

Contact during the closed period

Despite the closures, the OeAW can still be reached electronically. Individual employees can be contacted via the individual email addresses (firstname.surname@oeaw.ac.at). The central administration of the Academy can be contacted via email at webmaster(at)oeaw.ac.at. All employees working from home will do their best to respond quickly.

Information for employees

The health and safety of its employees is the Academy’s top priority. All colleagues will therefore work, as far as possible, from home and will be kept informed of the latest developments by email. Current information can also be found on the OeAW intranet.

The Academy reminds you to contact the health hotline 1450 if you develop symptoms such as fever, a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. For general questions and guidelines regarding the coronavirus, you can call the hotline of the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) at 0800 555 621, or visit the AGES website: https://www.ages.at/themen/krankheitserreger/coronavirus/
