Florian Spieckermann receives Stoddart International Scientific Award

During the “Sustainable Industrial Processing Summit and Exhibition 2018 (SIPS 2018)” in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, Dr. Florian Spieckermann has been awarded the first Stoddart International Scientific Award for outstanding scientific achievements in the framework of sustainable development. The prize was personally presented by the eponymous Prof. Dr. Sir James Fraser Stoddart, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2016.

SIPS is a multidisciplinary conference dedicated to achieving sustainability through science and technology, and incorporates recent advances in many areas, disciplines and technologies such as advanced materials, energy, and environment. The conference took place from 4-7 November 2018 in Rio de Janeiro.

Florian Spieckermann has obtained his doctorate from the University of Vienna. After postdoc stays in Vienna and Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, Dr. Spieckermann has been working since 2016 as Senior Scientist at the Department of Materials Physics. His research focuses on metastable metallic and polymeric materials with novel outstanding properties.
