Susanne studied English literature and Theatre, Film, and Media Studies at the University of Vienna. She gained her PhD in English literature with a dissertation on the pirate motif, postmodern Hollywood cinema and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean (published by Brill). While researching and writing her PhD, she worked as a lecturer at the English Department of the University of Vienna (courses on literature, gender studies, research methodologies) and taught English at a secondary higher school for several years. Before joining the ACDH-CH, she worked as mobility coordinator at the International Office of the University of Applied Sciences in Austria. Her research interests include English literature, film studies, gender studies and cultural studies.
