... born in 1971, studied musicology and Romance languages at the University of Vienna. In 1996, he completed his Ph.D. on the music treatises of Bern of Reichenau (11th century). In 1994, he received an ERASMUS study grant for Munich (Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities). In two FWF projects, he was engaged in cataloguing the manuscripts of medieval music theory in Austrian libraries for RISM (1995–2000). Subsequently, he was an active member of the international “Hollandrinus” project (in Munich and Warsaw). Since 2003, he has been employed at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, where he has been working on several projects (Austrian Music Lexicon, music of the Middle Ages, Habsburg representation). Since 2015, he has been directing the working group “music edition and documentation” at the Department of Musicology and collaborates in the new edition Johann Joseph Fux – Werke.
