A Digital Ecosystem of Sound and Vision: A Case Story
Synopsis: The ACDH Lecture will map the outlines of a possible digital ecosystem for storing, providing, and remix-producing sound and vision for 21st Century research, teaching and community building. Although sound and vision lend us new literacies, enhanced by numerous digital platforms and blended spaces, and although crowd production in sound and vision grows exponentially day by day, sound and vision are only on the brink of becoming digitally accessible as heritage and knowledge resource for Arts and Humanities. Exemplifying the knowledge potential of sound and vision heritage with the Danish Research Infrastructure LARM.dk and its offspring projects, Media Stream, Co-Sound, Transnational Radio Encounters and FLYD Festival, Marianne Ping Huang will focus on collaborative models for sustainable, digitally enhanced research and teaching and on how research and teaching may be taken into community projects for communal memory making, thus impacting learning, training and teaching outside of higher education.
