CMC Director Matthias Karmasin was elected a member of The European Academy - Section Film, Media and Visual Studies in 2018. The official introduction was made today at the European Academy´s 31st Annual Conference held in Barcelona.
The European Academy - Academia Europaea was founded in 1988, on the initiative of the UK's Royal Society and other National Academies in Europe. Academia Europaea is the only Europe-wide Academy with individual membership. It is an organisation of eminent, individual scientists and scholars, covering the full range of academic disciplines. The Academy organizes meetings and workshops, provides scientific and scholarly advice (one of the 5 pan-European organisations recently invited by the European Commission to participate in the new Scientific Advice Mechanism - SAM) and publishes the `European Review’.
