The Institute for Comparative Media and Communication Studies (CMC) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) and the University of Klagenfurt is offering a
PHD STUDENT POSITION (F*M)
(part-time, 20h per week)
in the Research Group “Media Accountability & Media Change” ( PI Tobias Eberwein), starting on 1 March, 2021, or later. The work contract will be limited to a duration of 30 months, but can be extended if additional funding is acquired.
The research group “Media Accountability & Media Change” focuses its attention on the analysis of current change processes in the media system, and examines the ensuing consequences for media ethics and media governance.
We are looking for a researcher willing to contribute to the EU-funded research project “Critical Exploration of Media-Related Risks and Opportunities for Deliberative Communication: Development Scenarios of the European Media Landscape” (MEDIAdelcom). The overall objective of the project is to develop a diagnostic tool for policy-makers, educators, media-critical bodies and institutions, as well as for media experts and journalists, which enables the provision of a holistic assessment of risks and opportunities concerning deliberative communication and consequently social cohesion in Europe.
We will support the candidate to develop and/or undertake a dissertation project with a close relation to the topics of the research group.
