Susanne Zhanial

... works as training officer at the ACDH-CH, and is also responsible for the internship programme. Susanne studied English literature and Theatre, Film, and Media Studies at the University of Vienna. She gained her PhD in English literature with a dissertation on the pirate motif, postmodern Hollywood cinema and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean (published by Brill). While researching and writing her PhD, she worked as a lecturer at the English Department of the University of Vienna (courses on literature, gender studies, research methodologies) and taught English at a secondary higher school for several years. Before joining the ACDH-CH, she worked as mobility coordinator at the International Office of the University of Applied Sciences in Austria. Her research interests include English literature, film studies, gender studies and cultural studies.
