From 1958 to 1973, the British-American poet W. H. Auden lived and worked in Austria for up to six months each year. The FWF-funded Auden Musulin Papers project makes the previously inaccessible letters and literary papers sent by Auden to the Welsh-Austrian writer Stella Musulin openly available.

The Pre-Release (v0.1.0) of the digital edition includes the transcripts and facsimiles of all of Auden's corresponcence as well as of Musulin's memoirs of Auden. Forthcoming versions will include photographs and supplementary documents, 3D reconstructions of sheet surfaces to visualize 'invisible' traces of Auden's poetic work, as well as a full scholarly commentary, annotations, and indexes.
