German in Austria and Other Pluricentric Contexts. Variation – Contact – Perception

The 2nd German in Austria conference focused on pluricentric/pluriareal languages in their complex linguistic and socio-linguistic contexts from the perspective of variationist linguistics, language contact studies, perceptionist linguistics, and studies into language attitudes.

The conference focused on pluricentric/pluriareal languages in their complex linguistic and socio-linguistic contexts from the perspective of variationist linguistics, language contact studies, perceptionist linguistics and studies into language attitudes. A special emphasis was placed on varieties of the German language in Austria. Consideration was made for synchronic and diachronic variation at all linguistic levels and with regard to all varieties of languages as well as their contact languages.

In addition, the conference highlighted contributions from the field of Digital Humanities that have as their research object the collection and preparation of linguistic data about the topic.
