Viennese Vintage Workshop,
25 - 26 November 2013
Announcement
The Institute of Mathematical Methods in Economics (research group on Operations Research and Control Systems and research group Economics ) of the Vienna University of Technology organizes in collaboration with the Vienna Institute of Demography of the Austrian Academy of Sciences an
International Workshop on Heterogenous Dynamic Models of Economic and Population Systems
Heterogenous Dynamic Models of Economic and Population Systems
The workshop will take place at the ÖAW (A-1040 Vienna, Wohllebengasse 12-14, seminar rooms 1 and 2, ground floor) on 25 and 26 November 2013.
The topics of the workshop are heterogenous dynamical systems and population systems. With this theory it is possible to model dynamical processes realistic. The term 'dynamical' in this context refers not on the time, but on the heterogeneity of the model. For instance, it is not possible to predict and epidemy in a realistic way, if the age-structure of the population is neglected. If this heterogeneity (i.e. age) is additionally considered, it is possible to formulate a realistic model and to determine optimal controls. The application of the theory are economic, demographic and epidemiological prolems.
