8th European Workshop on
Labour Markets and Demographic Change
Vienna, 12 - 13 September 2013
We are pleased to invite papers for submission for the 8th European Workshop on ‘Labour Markets and Demographic Change’, 12-13 September 2013, at the Vienna Institute of Demography, Austria.
Topics of Interest
The workshop focuses on economic analysis broadly dealing with the impact of demographic change on labour markets or, indeed, vice versa. We welcome empirical and theoretical contributions from both a micro- and macro-economic perspective. A non-exhaustive list of topics is:
- Age distribution of working age population and supply of/demand for workers
- Contract, careers and job design with an ageing workforce
- Age structure and skills of migrants
- Mobility of an aging workforce and regional labour markets
- Health, productivity and job satisfaction
- Long-term unemployment and employment prospects and earnings of older workers
- Fertility and female labour supply and earnings
- Matching, labor market institutions and demographic change
- Retirement incentives

Submission of Papers:
The deadline for submission is 01 June 2013. We prefer the submission of full draft papers, but are willing to consider extended abstracts (3 pages). Those wishing to participate are invited to submit papers/abstracts in PDF format to Lisa Janisch (lisa.janisch@oeaw.ac.at). We explicitly welcome junior researchers to submit and present their work. Authors will be notified about acceptance by 01 July 2013.
