How Do Estimate Gender Equality Effects?
Gosta Esping-Andersen, Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona
Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2013, Time: 12:00-1:00 pm
Gender (in-)equalities have become a central issue in demographic research on family outcomes. But how do we estimate their effects? Macro-level studies have used measures such as the GEI or expressed values (from the EVS or WVS), but neither is very satisfactory. I propose a new approach based on the distribution of spouses' contributions to household income.
