The meeting was organized by us and the Vienna University with support from the GSI Atomic Physics department and the Helmholtz institute Jena. During three days 70 participants discussed vividly the present status of the different SPARC subprojects, on-going R&D activities, the status of the different technical design reports for SPARC@FAIR and last, but not least, internal collaboration affairs. The latest developments of the SPARC research program, namely the early installation of CRYRING at ESR and the recently developed new experimental opportunities with heavy ions at the HESR, have been recieved with high interest and were the central topics of discussions.
