Checklists of the Austrian fauna
The objective of the Checklists of the Austrian fauna is to create an index of all species found in austria up to now.
Each checklist should provide short comments, as far as the current state of knowledge allows. This is essential especially if there are species or subspecies which shows a significant pattern of distribution or any ecological specialty. Additionally, a short austrian related history of research on the respective animal group will be prefixed.
The aspirated species lists should provide a sound and hence valuable information source for faunists, respective animal geographers, ecologists and parties with general interests on the Austrian wildlife, bio diversity and nature conservation.
