This study outlines various concepts of
technology assessment and presents in an international survey (including the
Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Great Britain, the US and the EEC)
how TA and environmental impact assessment is institutionalised. A legal
analysis with a view to implementation of EIA in Austria concludes the
