How to get to us via public transport

The institute may be best reached as follows:

Transfer Airport -> City

You have several options:

1. CAT – City Airport Train: The CAT goes half-hourly to the City (ride time: 16 minutes).
   You arrive at the City Air Terminal ("Bahnhof Wien-Mitte"), this takes you very close to the ITA. From there take the nearby underground U4 from "Landstraße/Wien Mitte", one stop to exit "Stadtpark" or two stops to exit "Karlsplatz". From there it is just 5 minutes' walk to the ITA, see map of the area below.
2. S-Bahn "S7": the rapid train railway "S7" goes from the airport via "Wien-Mitte" and "Wien-Nord" to the station "Bahnhof Floridsdorf". It is cheaper than the CAT, but also slower. To find the way to the ITA, take the S7-exit "Wien-Mitte" and then follow the instructions as described in pt. 1. ("CAT").
3. Autobus transfer with the Vienna Airport Lines.
4. Taxi from the airport to the City is about 30,- to 35,- EUROs (taxi and hire car info).

From train stations to the ITA

1. From "Westbahnhof":
   Take the underground U3 to the station "Stephansplatz" and then U1 one stop to exit "Karlsplatz". From there it is just 5 minutes' walk to the ITA (or two stops with bus route "4A").
   OR take the underground U3 to the station "Volkstheater" and then take tramway 2 or D to exit "Schwarzenbergplatz".
   
   
2. From "Bahnhof Wien-Meidling" ("Philadelphiabrücke"):
   Take one of the "S-Bahn"- (rapid train railway-) lines S1, S2 or S3 to the exit "Südbahnhof", then follow tramway D to exit "Schwarzenbergplatz".
   OR take the underground U6 to "Westbahnhof" (4 stops), and then follow the instructions in point 1..
