SSR Centre - Social Science Research Centre

The Institute for Urban and Regional Research forms part of the Social Science Research Centre. This encompasses all those research institutions pertaining to the Austrian Academy of Sciences, which deal with social structures, political processes and human behaviour. Accordingly, the research effort is focused on social aspects in the strict sense as well as on a diverse range of questions in the fields of Humanities, Cultural Sciences and Natural Sciences. This broad spectrum directs the view toward frequently neglected correlations and facilitates the examination of border areas and overlapping problem formulations.
