Studies of cultural and social anthropology at the University of Vienna; postgraduate studies in political science at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. Research, teaching, lecturing and advisory activities in the field of migration research [followed]. From 2000 to 2002 Research officer at the ICMPD; visiting scientist at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, during the academic year 2002-2003. As of 2003 responsibility for the Austrian section of the international research project TIES – ‘The Integration of the European Second Generation’ – www.tiesproject.eu. Staff member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences from 2004. Teaching at the University of Vienna as of 2005. Member of the European Network of Excellence on International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion (IMISCOE). Member of the Scientific Council of the Federal Institute for Education Research, Innovation, and Development of the Austrian School System (‘bifie’).
