Leoben
Leoben is a nice town with about 30000 inhabitants. It is located in the southern part of the Austrian Alps with excellent conditions for hiking and skiing nearby. You reach us by car over the motorway from Vienna, Graz, Klagenfurt and Salzburg. Flight travellers may wish to use the comfortable train from Vienna to Leoben. A shuttle bus guides you from Vienna's airport directly to the railway station "Wien Südbahnhof" where the trains to Leoben leave every full hour. From the railway station in Leoben you can either use a Taxi or you may prefer to walk the remaining 200 meters to the Erich Schmid Institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
