The envisaged topics include:

  • Management: visitor monitoring, participation of local population, implementation of conservation concepts/plans
  • Sustainable regional development
  • Specific research into flora and fauna
  • Geographical mountain research - Alps /other mountain ranges
  • Landscape ecology - changes in cultural landscapes/practices, soil
  • Global change - impacts on mountain areas.

Each article should:

  • contain hard facts (what?), put into a context (spatial, temporal) (how?)
  • show the relevance of this research (causes, effects) (why?)
  • point out consequences, strategies, possible actions to take.

The journal also contains a news section where you can contribute:

  • news from individual protected areas
  • information on workshops,
  • professional development opportunities,
  • short progress reports
