Peter I. Rose (Cornell Ph.D., 1959), currently Fulbright Senior Specialist at the University of Vienna, is Sophia Smith Professor Emeritus of Sociology and Anthropology and Senior Fellow of the Kahn Institute at Smith College and a member of the Graduate Faculty of the University of Massachusetts in the U.S.A. His many books include They and We, The Subject is Race, The Ghetto and Beyond, Nation of Nations, Americans from Africa, Seeing Ourselves, Views from Abroad, Working With Refugees, Tempest-Tost, and Guest Appearances.
