… ist Literatur- und Kulturhistorikerin in der Abteilung Literatur- und Textwissenschaft und forscht zu den Bereichen Life Writing, Autorschaft, kulturelle Transfers, Rezeptionsgeschichte und digitale Editionswissenschaft.
Nach dem Studium der Anglistik und Geschichte in Graz, Sussex und Wien folgten Lehrtätigkeiten und Forschungsaufenthalte an den Universitäten Wien, Oxford, Zürich und Galway. Seit 2021 ist Mayer am ACDH-CH tätig und leitet die digitalen Editionsprojekte Auden Musulin Papers (2021–2024) und Auden in Austria Digital (2024–2027).
Darüber hinaus arbeitet sie an ihrem im Rahmen des Elise-Richter-Programms vom FWF geförderten Habilitationsprojekt The Author as Activist: Literature, Politics, and Celebrity, das sich mit dem Zusammenspiel von Autorinszenierungen, politischem Aktivismus und autobiographischen Erzählformaten beschäftigt.
