World Internet Project

The Commission for Comparative Media and Communication Studies has recently joined the World Internet Project (WIP) as Austria country partner. The international consortium is chaired by Prof. Jeff Cole, USC Annenberg School Center for the Digital Future, and  consists of 35 national teams which regularly conduct surveys on Internet usage and its multifaceted impact.

to Josef Seethaler

The Best Paper Award 2010 of the German Communication Association (DGPuK) was given to Thomas Hanitzsch (University of Munich) and Josef Seethaler (Austrian Academy of Sciences) for their article on "Journalismuswelten: Ein Vergleich von Journalismuskulturen in 17 Ländern [Worlds of Journalism: Comparing Journalism Cultures in 17 Countries]" (in Medien & Kommunikations-
wissenschaft 2009/4).
